sketchbook
After watching True Blood last Sunday, I felt very inspired by what Lorena said:
"I would just love to rip you open and wear your rib cage as a hat."
So this is my interpretation :)

100 records
On August 13th, a new show is opening at Cinders Gallery in Brooklyn. It will be curated by Sonny Smith, and it will feature 100 album covers for bands who don't exist... hence the name of the show "100 Records."
Sonny Smith is the frontman of Sonny and the Sunsets, so it only makes sense that each album cover will be accompanied by a new song, featuring bands like Thee Oh Sees, Fresh N Only's, and the Sandwitches.
I definitely will be checking it out, it sounds like it will be a blast! Who's coming with me?

Mark Addison Smith uses hand drawn typography to illustrate things that he overhears and posts them on his blog, cleverly called "You Look Like the Right Type." Basically, they're awesome.

works in progress drawings
So I finally gathered the energy to take pictures, plug in my camera, upload the pictures and even edit them! (Because the paper color was gray)
Here they are, in the order that I drew them. I'm still thinking about whether or not I should add some elements of color or more design... if you have any suggestions please let me know what you think!

martha rich
Martha Rich's illustrations are unusual, raw, and delicious. I chose to feature these desserts and food illustrations because I'm starving. But the rest of her artwork is amazing.
