I had a super-productive day today! I basically spent all day on these postcards.
Here are three different sets of postcards. Each set will have 3 postcards. I still have to lamenate these and mat them to another paper but here they are...
Set One: Travel
Set Two: Love/Friendship
Set Three: Internet Memes
Hope you like them! Will be on my Etsy sooner or later.

Postcards
I am working on a couple sets of postcards that will soon be on my Etsy account. I'm thinking there will be about 3 or 4 sets with 3 or 4 different cards in each set, but right now I have only a travel set and one of a love/friendship set.
The postcards are about 4x6 hand drawn with zig pens and then watercolor painted on top. I will have to mat them to something so they are sturdier. On the back will be regular postcard things (probably hand written.)
I am also thinking that since postcards, and mail in general, are becoming outdated, that I would sell the postcards already stamped... It would kind of be annoying on my part to buy a whole bunch of stamps, but I think people would be more likely to write it and put it in the mail if there was already a stamp on it. Comment on what you think, it would help a lot :)
A couple of pictures of the cards.
It was unintentional at first that I did a travel theme... maybe I subconsciously want to go somewhere. Actually, yes, I do...
So, please tell me if you would buy these on Etsy (or at a craft fair)... they would come in packs of 3 or 4 but they would all be different and all handmade :)

Take a Walk
Last weekend I went for a run, and then took a walk right afterwards so I could go back and take some pictures.
Here are a few pictures I took on my walk that day.
Here's a picture from kitty-sitting. I should post this one on that "Pets on Furniture" blog.

Concert Posters
One of the reasons I was so busy this week was because I was making these posters for a show coming up in April at SUNY Oneonta. They are both hand drawn and then scanned and colored in Photoshop. (Also, I forgot to draw the leaves on the trees in the bear poster, so I had to copy and paste leaves in from the first poster. There was a layer for each leaf... way too many layers.)
But anyways... I was very inspired by spring when I was drawing these. Also now I know how to draw cute little aminals! I hope you like them :)
Here's the event.

Elliott Smith
I went walking around the city some more
People watching with a cold blank stare
And I saw your face, in everyone I swear
Seems like I never get your kick quite right
I was walking slow to a dirty dive
I'm so sick and tired of trying to change your mind
When it's so easy to disconnect mine
I haven't posted song lyrics on a blog since my xanga years...

@ as design
The Museum of Modern Art has recently acquired the "@" symbol as part of their collection. It is something we take for granted everyday of our lives, but do you think it should be considered design? The debate continues...
It's an interesting article, and you can read it here!

Stop-Motion Animation
Stop-motion animation. I don't know why I love it so much, but I just find it amazing. I want to learn how to make a movie like this. Another project to add to my list...
In the meantime, watch these great stop-motion videos!
Amazon's Kindle Commercial, by Angela Kohler
"Lost Things" by Angela Kohler
Oren Lavie's "Her Morning Elegance." One of my favorite music videos.
It's almost Friday...

FML
At work I had to design a website based on an invitation.
Unfortunately, this was the invitation:
So here was my design:
Let's just say... this is definitely NOT going in my portfolio...

P.S. Apologies for the lack of posts this week... I've been super busy! But if you are in the Rockland/Bergen area, PLEASE come to the craft fair this weekend!

Sunday Night Sketching
Can't stop drawing deer. Even when I am not drawing them, I keep seeing them all over the place in random things.
Did this one on pink index cards, with zig pens.
Lookin' tired, goodnight.

Pretty Things Friday
I'm a little behind on Pretty Things Friday but I hope you will forgive me :)
Enjoy your {hopefully} BEAUTIFUL Friday!
Pretty darn cute if you ask me.
Pretty birds.
Pretty typography.
Pretty trippy.
Tilt-shift photography pretty much never ceases to amaze me.
Making fun of Comic Sans never gets old. Pretty hilarious. I want to be in a designer gang. I am going to start one, right now.
Pretty trees within trees within trees.
Mad Men barbie dolls. Pretty sweeeeeet.
Pretty funny.
Pretty sexy tat. I kind of love this. A lot.
Collages are always so pretty. And fun to make.
Pretty photo from iStock. It's kind of sick, though.
Want. To. Eat. The. Pretty. Cakes.
Pretty cute lambs in onesies.
