garden ladies

i noticed a little trend in the london illustrator world. two of my favorite young artists, emma block and clare owen, have done illustrations of pretty ladies tending to their window box gardens. i love seeing how different artists interpret the same theme.

i thought these were too gorgeous not to share, so here are both illustrations from emma and clare, respectively.

{inspired by} maira kalman

I've always been a fan of Maira Kalman, an artist, author and designer originally from Tel Aviv. Now living in New York, Maira continues her passion for art while incorporating her designs into books, magazines, and even commercial products.

I am very excited to learn that Maira Kalman is having an exhibition of her work at The Jewish Museum in New York, which opens March 11. The exhibition will be spanning 30 years of Maira's work, including over 100 original paintings as well as her less popular textiles, photography, and performances. I am definitely planning on checking that out!

{inspiring spaces} dottie angel

Hello there! I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend! It's been a while since I've been on here, but today I was able to find some time to show a few pictures of a beautiful space.

You may {or may not} know that I am very excited about my upcoming adventure... moving out of my parents house and into my own apartment!!! I definitely have some ideas for how I want my place to look, but I am constantly finding new ideas and styles that I absolutely love.

I came across these gorgeous photos of British artist Tif aka Dottie Angel's inspiring space she calls her home {via her Flickr}

I am so inspired by the way Tif has created a beautiful home while incorporating her art and passions for crafts and antiques to make such a beautiful space! Enjoy :)
