mutt ink

Mutt Ink is a creative studio founded in 2004 by Jeremy Holmes in Pennsylvania. They provide a large range of design and illustration, experience in print, editorial, branding, publishing, web and packaging.

Their style is really interesting, and it reminds me of vintage-inspired collages and sketches with purposely flat elements using bright colors and lots of contrast.

moleskin collage

I finally got to take advantage of the scanner at work (that emails your scans!!!) so here are the better quality pictures (better than photobooth at least) of my new moleskin. Horray!

Inside front cover... card catalog envelope.

I hope you like it :)

ventral

A really awesome collage artist who goes by Ventral. Influenced by Dadaism (which is one of my favorites.) I highly recommend checking out the website; there's so much content to look at and a lot of different artist books!

Enjoy these images for now... PTF later.

su blackwell

I'm on a roll this week finding amazing artists to highlight! Today is Su Blackwell, a Book Cut artist from London. These book cuts are absolutely gorgeous 3-D illustrations of books (made from the actual book? I'm not sure) They make me miss my Artist Books class, and one even reminds me of my Birds of a Feather pop-up book; but these are way better. Take a look and try to guess which books these are from!

Moleskins & Mirah

This is my decorated cover of my first moleskin sketchbook. Song lyrics by St. Vincent "the Strangers" and the pressed daffodil is from the art exhibition last semester. I'm thinking about starting another moleskin (since I have 2 more that came in the package) for my next artist book (if I ever finish the one I'm working on now...) I am going to base it off one of Mirah's songs Body Below. She really inspires me especially now since I got to see her on Saturday!!!
