Artist Spotlight

Shuxin Liang is an artist and graphic designer from Southern China who now is living in Melbourne. Her style is inspired by the organic and natural world conflicting with the urban environment.
"Materials and textures intrigue me and I have an almost obsessive need to create... I love nature, I like birds and their songs, and I want to use my artworks to express to my audiences not only a sonic experience, but also my own self-identity as a channel by which to encode this sonic resonance."
-S.L.

If I could somehow put my feelings into cohesive sentences, that's almost exactly what I would say about my work too. Her work instantly inspired me, and now I feel that same obsessive compulsion to create something.

I couldn't choose just a few pieces because I like them all so much...so apologies for image-overload.

The Decoder Ring

Here are some awesomely amazing posters from a design group called The Decoder Ring. Although, I might just be partial to the designs because they design for some of my favorite bands.

Either way, I hope you enjoy these posters as much as I do!

The Hold Steady... I like this one a lot because it's two seperate posterss but they can make one big poster too. And I like the pill design too. And the title.

The Decemberists... This one is awesome because you can actually fold the poster to make your own crane (wife.)

Modest Mouse... really digging the halftone thing.

Another Modest Mouse... sweatery

Besides the fact that I can't stop listening to Bon Iver, I really do love the typography in this one. And I can't not love something that has birds on it.

White Denim. Just a great design.

M. Ward. Pretty and interesting.

Gnarles Barkley...wish smokestacks looked like this.

PS. Happy St. Patrick's Day

Artist Spotlight

Alexis Anne Mackenzie is a collage artist from San Francisco. Her works of art are like little puzzles you have to put together, squint your eyes, look closely, and then say "oh yeahhh."

"My general intent, throughout all my work, is to portray the world as a flawed thing of beauty - a place that shines brightly, but has a dark side to match." -A.A.M.
